Last August 18 - 20, 2016, a group of JILS students led by High School Principal, Patrick James N. Lontoc joined a three-day event at MOA SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. The event is entitled "Manufacturing Innovation, Skills and Power Robotics Competition". Our school was represented by three teams, two (2) from the Junior High School Department and one (1) from the Senior High School.

Participants from different schools were allowed to assemble their robots and to practice controlling them in the actual playing field that will be used for the contest proper. Three hours were allotted for robot assembly and programming. Robots of the Junior High School Department were tasked to compete in two parts namely; (1) an autonomous course for the first part of the competition and (2) a remote controlled head to head competition.

Participants of the Senior High School Department on the other hand, was tasked to construct and program an automated assembly line from the materials provided to them by the organizers.

After the competition, one of our Junior High School team bagged 4th place in their category while our Senior High School team was awarded 2nd place.
